Emmie Ruff

Emmie Ruff is from Frankfurt, Germany. She began her art studies at the Stadelsche Kunstinstitut in Frankfurt. Since coming th the U.S. she has studied under such artists as Emi Mackmiller, Clint Carter, Greta Schelke, Frank Broadhurst, and others.

Emmie's chosen medium is watercolor. Her style is free and relaxed, and there is a sense of movement in her paintings. Though she prefers floral, still life and landscape scenes, she considers no subject off limits if it impresses her creative abilities.

Emmie has attended numerous watercolor workshops, enjoying the exposiure to various techniques. "This gives me the opportunity to look at art through the eyes of other artists," she says.

Like many artists, she is inspired by the natural splendor found in nature; however, she believes that no art can compare to the miraculous beauty found there:

Nevertheless, I challenge myself to find something unique within each season and attempt to interpret it by incorporating the perception of the subject in my mind's eye with my personal technique. There's always an uplifting, in fact quite exhilarating, feeling that accompanies each initial moment of inspiration.

Today, much of Emmie's work graces the walls of private homes and several corporate offices. She welcomes private commissions.
