Kathy Rennell Forbes combines her passion for art, the outdoors, and travel to create award winning paintings. She specializes in plein air watercolor landscapes. Kathy creates larger paintings from the sketches and photos that she makes on site. She is attracted to the dramatic lighting during the early morning and at twilight. Kathy paints in watercolor, acrylic, oils and mixed media; watercolor is her favorite. She has won numerous awards in the state of Georgia and the Southeast for her paintings. Kathy has exhibited in several national shows and was a recent national award winner.
Her work hangs in private collections throughout the United States and Europe. Kathy holds a BFA in Art and Art Education from the University of Georgia. She currently teaches watercolor classes in the Atlanta area. She joined the board of the Georgia Watercolor Society in 2006.
