Mary Ann Pope, GWS

Mary Ann Pope, who lives in Huntsville, Alabama, is an artist who loves color. Her paintings are mostly of landscapes from her trips around the country, but her favorite subjects are from the South.

Her paintings have been in over 28 one-man exhibitions at galleries and museums and her work has also been included in the Arts in Embassies program of the U.S. State Department. Paintings by her have been accepted into 95 national exhibitions in which they've received over 35 awards.

A signature member of several watercolor societies, she has served on the Board of the Watercolor Society of Alabama as president, vice-president and exhibition chairman and has been an officer of the Watercolor USA Honor Society as well.

Articles on her watercolors have been featured in Watercolor, Winter 2006, International Artist Magazine, 2004, the American Artist issue of Watercolor, Fall 1992 and Watercolor, Spring 2000. Her work has also been included in the books Splash 8, 2004 and Splash 7, 2002, by Rachel Rubin Wolf, The Best of Watercolor, 1995, Creative Watercolor, by Mary Ann Beckwith and Painting Skies by Patricia Seligman.
