Bob Watson is a self taught artist. Early in childhood, he realized God had given him a talent for drawing which ultimately led to a career in architecture. He is a registered architect in practice with a large international Atlanta-based company.

Bob had experimented with oil and watercolor painting; hover had not pursued either media with any passion until hi mother-in-law entered a painting in a local county fair where it won first place. Bob was in paradise painting the barn and other out buildings on his in-law's small farm in western Pennsylvania. The farm was "two miles off the road," as his father-in-law would say. Bob's father-in-law could not understand how he was content to roam over the farm and paint en plein air.

"Rusty", shown on this page, was the first painting entered in a GWS competition where it was accepted in the GWS Sixth Annual Exhibition in 1985. The quest then began for GWS Signature Membership, which was received in 2004.

Bob was educated the the University of Memphis and Southern Polytechnic Institute. He has been inspired by Tom Lynch, John Pike, Jeanne Dobie, Szabo Zarb, Alex Powers, and Charles Reid among others toward increasing his painting abiliities.

His paintings are in private collections from Hawaii to Scotland.
