Wanda Cox, GWS

Always loving the softness and movement of watercolor but never having painted anything before, in September of 2006 at the age of 49 Wanda began watercolor classes. It didn't take her long to realize her passion was painting portraits with children and brides among her favorites. With no formal portrait classes Wanda studied everything she could find on portraits and taught herself how to do what she has always wanted to do. Wanda desires to make her portraits poetry on paper and not a duplicate of the photo using realism and the looseness that only watercolor offers.

Moving from Michigan over 20 years ago, Wanda now makes Villa Rica, Georgia her home. You can find Wanda painting on the square in Carrollton in the spring and fall on Fridays where she loves to talk to and meet as many people as she can.
