Member News
Our members have been busy and prolific and have taken a number of awards in shows around the Southeast and the country. Congratulations to all.

- Toni M. Elkins was accepted into The Hilton Head Art League National as well as the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Annual Juried Exhibition.
- Victoria Lenne has earned Signature status in the Alabama Watercolor Society. To date in 2007, she has had paintings accepted into the GWS 2007 National Show, the Louisiana Watercolor Society National Exhibition, the Red River Watercolor Society National Exhibition and the Watercolor Society of Alabama National Exhibition.
- Mary Britten Lynch won a cash award of $1,000.00 in The 42nd annual Central South Exhibition for her acrylic on canvas "Dogs of Taos" and won the Arches Paper Award for her work "Odyssey" in the GWS 2007 National Exhibition. She is in her third year as corresponding secretary of The National Watercolor Society Springfield, MO.
- Pat Maloney was accepted into the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society's national show in Colorado. Her work was also selected for the Rome Coteries national show in Rome, GA.
- Lorraine Ptacek's paintings were accepted into the 15th Annual National Exhibition of the Western Colorado Watercolor Society; the Norris Gallery's "Watercolor 07" show; and the Society of Watercolor Arts 26th Juried Art Exhibition. Also, she won an award at the Addison Artists Guild Show, Addison IL.
- Jan Ross had work accepted in the Western Colorado Watercolor Society 15th Annual National Exhibition, the Missouri Watercolor Society National 2007, the Watercolor Society of Alabama 66th Annual National Exhibition, the Las Vegas Art Council's 17th Annual International Juried Art Exhibition, "Faces of Woman" and will be included in the "Southwest Invitational" selected works by the Booth Museum of Western Art and Calhoun Harris Arts Council.
- Pat San Soucie has been accepted in a number of shows in 2007. Among them are the Texas Watercolor Society, the Missouri Watercolor Society, the Oregon Watercolor Society, the Louisiana Watercolor Society and the Visual Arts Alliance (Houston, TX). She won awards in several of the shows.
- Theodora T. Tilton of Alexandria, VA won the Da Vinci Paint Award at the Georgia Watercolor 2007 National Exhibition. This year she was awarded Signature Member status in the Missouri Watercolor Society. Theodora had a solo exhibition at the Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, NC. Her work has been accepted in the D'Art Center Mid-Atlantic Exhibition; Missouri National Exhibition; Art on Paper Exhibit in Annapolis, Maryland; and the Gallery West 10th Annual National Competition.
- Jerry Wray was accepted by the Upstream People Gallery in the 9th Judeo-Christian International Juried Online Art Exhibition. In addition, Jerry was accepted in the SWA exhibition in Fort Worth TX, the GWS National Show in Carrollton GA and the Women and Spirituality National Association of Women Artists, NY City.

Please be sure to have exact and complete information about the exhibition, title of venue, name of award, times and dates of workshops etc. Double check your facts! Keep information succinct and to the point. Please read the Member News and write your items in the same format. The next deadline for Fall 2007 GWS Newsletter Member News is August 17. Thanks!
Member Workshops
Billie Mathis is giving a three-day watercolor workshop at Monteagle, TN this fall, Monday-Wednesday, October 22-24. She guides students in combining design principles, the intuitive self and the creative force to produce individual paintings while experimenting with a variety of subjects. All levels are welcome.

- Victoria Lenne is teaching two three-day workshops in Biloxi, MS at the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art, July 20-22 and July 27-29, 2007.
